Finding the Right San Francisco Vacation Rental

San Francisco is one of the most expensive US cities to visit. Real estate prices in the area are continually appreciating along with the hotel rates. But there is another option for both domestic and international travellers that may end up saving them a little bit of money.

The option we are talking about is called a vacation rental. What is a vacation rental? Well, it is basically just a furnished apartment, condominium or home that the owner or real estate agency chooses to rent out to tourists and travellers.

Though vacation rentals are far more popular in Europe, they are slowly gaining a following in America. In fact, the average San francisco vacation rentals is often booked for twenty or more days a month.

Who stays in vacation rentals? Though vacation rentals do offer nightly rates, just like hotels, they tend to be more appealing to the long-term traveller who plans to stay for several weeks. The owner or agency will often offer these clients special weekly rates, which is why it pays to stay at a vacation rental instead of a hotel.

The other obvious advantage of the vacation rental over the hotel or motel is that it is an actual residence, which means it offers guests more space and amenities. For instance, in a vacation rental you will ordinarily have access to a standard kitchen; and if you are traveling with your family, you might not want to eat out each and every night of your stay.
